PARTNER Executive is proud to be supporting an ASX listed gold development company on the appointment of a Chief Financial Officer.
The company
Our client holds a flagship, large scale asset in one of the world's premier gold producing regions.
With a landmark strategic funding agreement recently secured and a strong balance sheet behind it, the business is transitioning from development through project execution and, ultimately, into operations.
This is the stage where the finance function stops being a reporting exercise and starts shaping how the project gets built.
The role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the CFO is a genuine strategic partner to the MD and Board, providing commercial and financial leadership across funding strategy, capital management, project development and operational readiness.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the company's funding strategy, engaging directly with banks, investors and financial institutions as the business progresses through development and into construction
Partnering with the Managing Director and Board on strategic decision making at a pivotal stage of growth
Providing commercial insight across budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation and project economics, working closely with corporate and technical teams
Building the finance and IT capability required for scale, and strengthening reporting,
governance and risk frameworks as the business grows
Supporting or leading lender and investor engagement through debt funding processes
About you
You are a commercially credible finance leader who has been through this transition before, not observed it from the outside.
Specifically, you bring:
Experience taking a resources project from early investment through construction and into production, or a close equivalent, as this is the capability that matters most
Hands on industry experience in a mining, energy or resources business rather than solely advisory, audit or banking, though a solid technical grounding from those environments is valued alongside it
Demonstrated involvement in debt funding processes, with the ability to support or lead lender and investor engagement
Strong technical accounting, ASX reporting and governance grounding
The presence to hold a seat at the table with a Board and to be relied on by the MD
Gold or copper experience is an advantage, though we welcome candidates from across the commodities, including those based outside Western Australia
