About the role
The Coffee Club is seeking an experienced Chef to join our culinary team in Lismore NSW.
This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for creating exceptional dishes and leading kitchen operations to deliver outstanding dining experiences for our guests.
As a chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our food quality standards, managing kitchen staff, and contributing to the success of our hospitality establishment.
What you'll be doing
Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch dishes according to the restaurant menu
Preparing breakfast items including eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, spinach, hash browns, tomatoes and avocado
Preparing and cooking dishes such as big breakfasts, eggs Benedict, breakfast burgers and avocado toast
Preparing and cooking lunch items including sandwiches, burgers, flat grills, salads and steak sandwiches
Preparing ingredients by cutting, chopping, slicing, marinating and portioning food
Preparing sauces, dressings, garnishes and other ingredients required for breakfast and lunch service
Cooking eggs to customer specifications including poached, scrambled and fried eggs
Grilling and cooking meats, chicken, bacon and other food items to the required standard
Assembling and plating meals in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
Managing multiple food orders during busy breakfast and lunch service periods
Coordinating with other kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared and served within required timeframes
Checking the quality, freshness and quantity of ingredients before food preparation
Maintaining appropriate food storage, stock rotation and temperature control
Following food safety,



hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures
Cleaning and sanitising cooking equipment, preparation areas, benches and kitchen utensils
Monitoring food wastage and maintaining appropriate portion control
Assisting with daily kitchen preparation and ensuring sufficient ingredients are ready for busy service
Communicating with kitchen staff and management regarding orders, stock requirements and food preparation
Assisting junior kitchen staff and kitchen hands with food preparation and maintaining kitchen operations
Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen throughout breakfast and lunch service
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a busy café or restaurant environment
Strong knowledge of breakfast and lunch food preparation and cooking techniques
Experience preparing and cooking eggs, breakfast dishes, burgers, sandwiches, salads, grilled items and other café-style meals
Proficiency in using commercial kitchen equipment, including grills, fryers, ovens, cooktops and food preparation equipment
Excellent organisational and time management skills, particularly during busy breakfast and lunch service periods
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining food quality, presentation and consistency
Ability to work cooperatively with kitchen staff,



front-of-house staff and management
Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements
Positive communication skills and ability to follow recipes, kitchen procedures and customer requirements
Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding kitchen duties
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or relevant culinary qualification is highly desirable
Experience with food preparation, portion control, stock rotation and minimising food wastage
Ability to maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen throughout service
