Specialist General Practitioner required for Hospital in The Home (HiTH) coverage in Central Queensland. The placement consists of three separate weekly blocks across August and September ****.

Shift Schedule:
***********************: Monday - Friday with On Call Saturday & Sunday
***********************: Monday - Friday with On Call Saturday & Sunday
***********************: Monday - Friday with On Call Saturday & Sunday

This position focuses on improving emergency care outcomes for older adults through rapid geriatric assessment and early intervention. The GERI model works within the Emergency Department to reduce unnecessary admissions and support safe, effective discharge for elderly patients.

Travel: Direct economy, home base return capped at $*******, or mileage at 0.88c per km (pre-approved).
Accommodation: Solo self-contained unit (no phone or internet access).
Vehicle: $50 per day car allowance for the contracted period. Taxis are not reimbursed.

The doctor's responsibilities include:
• Providing senior medical support to the GERI nursing team.
• Reviewing and managing elderly patients identified for geriatric intervention within the ED.
• Supporting early decision-making,



admission avoidance, and streamlined discharge planning.
• Advocating for and embedding geriatric-focused pathways and nurse-led models of care.
• Participating in quality improvement, education, and integration of the GERI model into ED operations.
