About Us
Breathe Medicine is a specialist medical practice offering respiratory, sleep, and general medicine services across Queensland.
We are a multi-faceted service offering face-to-face and telehealth specialist consults, in-patient sleep studies, and outpatient sleep studies in Cairns and across our satellite clinics in Atherton, Mareeba, Airlie Beach, Rockhampton, and Brisbane.
About the Role
The purpose of this role is to support the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of sleep and respiratory disorders.
Breathe is committed to providing quality, ethical, and patient-focused services, and you'll have primary responsibility for lung function testing in our private clinic.
As well as growing and developing this aspect of the business, you will collaborate with the rest of the Breathe team.
You'll have the opportunity to work alongside committed specialists in their respective fields, with training and development opportunities provided along the way.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive lung function testing, including but not limited to, spirometry, diffusion capacity, lung volumes, and six-minute walk tests
Ensure all respiratory function tests meet appropriate standards




Establish rapport quickly and compassionately guide patients to achieve accurate and reliable results
Accurately and promptly update and administer patients' electronic files
Manage stock levels and ordering
Utilise exceptional communication, time management, and multitasking skills to prioritise tasks and embrace a flexible approach to your workload
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Completed, or working towards, an undergraduate degree in Science, Applied Science, Nursing, or equivalent
Previous clinical experience in sleep or respiratory medicine or nursing is highly regarded
Strong background in people/patient skills
A robust commitment to high-quality care
Excellent communication skills, with an empathetic and personable demeanour
Commitment to delivering patient services of the highest quality
Technical proficiency in lung function diagnostic testing, or the ability to quickly acquire it
High level of drive and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Great time management and multitasking skills, with a flexible approach to task prioritisation
Training is provided; however, a minimum 12-month commitment is required to be eligible
