We're looking for a highly skilled Full-Time Circular Knitter to join our team in Bowden, South Australia.
This is a hands-on, technical role requiring deep experience in circular knitting — including fine gauge elastomeric plating and Jacquard machine operation.
What You'll Be Doing
Setting up, operating, and maintaining circular knitting machines, including single jersey and Jacquard types
Managing elastomeric plating processes with precision and care
Troubleshooting and remedying plating flaws and fabric inconsistencies
Analysing and replicating fine gauge knitted elastomeric fabrics
Reading and interpreting knitted notation graphs for production accuracy
Working with elastomerics ranging from 30 to 105 denier
Setting up and maintaining Jacquard designs using elastomeric yarns on a Terrot S3P 172
Ensuring barré-free, needle- and sinker-line uniform fabric production
Overseeing production from yarn store to fabric output — including knitting elements, spare parts, quality control, and production planning
Collaborating with designers and production managers on new developments
Supporting full sovereign manufacturing — from concept to completion
Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
About You
Proven experience with circular knitting — Jacquard and plain knit machinery
Solid knowledge of elastomeric plating processes and troubleshooting methods
Able to replicate and fine-tune fabrics to meet technical specifications
Skilled in reading knitted notation graphs and setting up Jacquard patterns
Experienced in maintaining and calibrating knitting elements for fine gauge fabrics
Confident working with cotton, wool, polyester, synthetics, and elastomerics
Technically minded with strong problem-solving skills
Organised, proactive, and able to work independently
