Job DescriptionHome Migration Services We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to perform skilled carpentry work associated with demolition, structural alteration, refurbishment and construction projects.

Task & responsibilities
Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications and work instructions.
Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber and other construction materials.
Construct, install, repair and alter wall frames, roof framing, flooring, doors, windows and other building components.
Build and install temporary supports, hoardings, barriers, formwork and protective structures.
Undertake controlled dismantling and deconstruction of timber-framed structures.
Identify structural elements and ensure temporary supports are installed before components are removed.
Repair and reinstate structures affected by demolition or alteration work.
Install fixtures, fittings, internal linings, cladding and finishing components.
Select appropriate materials, tools and construction methods for each project.




Inspect completed work to ensure it is level, secure and compliant with plans and specifications.
Coordinate with supervisors, demolition workers, tradespeople and subcontractors.
Maintain tools, equipment and a safe, organised work area.
Follow workplace health and safety, environmental and quality requirements.
Qualification & experience Applicants must have:
a relevant Certificate III qualification in Carpentry or an equivalent trade qualification;
at least two years of relevant post-qualification employment experience as a Carpenter;
demonstrated experience in structural carpentry, alterations, refurbishment or demolition-related carpentry;
the ability to interpret plans, take accurate measurements and work independently;
sound knowledge of construction methods, materials and workplace safety requirements;
experience using hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment;
strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills; and
a current driver's licence.
A White Card is mandatory.
Relevant high-risk work licences, asbestos-awareness training, demolition-industry experience and first-aid certification will be highly regarded.
