Salary Range $89,003 – $93,257 per annum dependent on
qualifications and experience

About the Role
The Waste Contracts Officer is responsible for the effective
management of the City's waste and recycling contracts, ensuring
services are delivered safely, compliantly, efficiently and within
budget.
The role oversees contractor performance, procurement and
tender processes, contract administration, financial monitoring and
stakeholder engagement to achieve high-quality service outcomes and
value for money.
The position also contributes to the planning and continuous
improvement of waste services, provides specialist waste management
advice, supports the City's Waste Strategy and assesses Development
Applications from a waste and recycling perspective.
As with all roles at the City, this position contributes to




excellent customer service by responding to resident enquiries,
service requests and complaints through the City's CRM system,
while undertaking associated administrative tasks.
What we're Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
Relevant experience in a similar position, preferably in
waste or a related industry
Considerable knowledge and practical experience in
administering the WARR Act and other legislation relevant to
the waste industry
Comprehensive knowledge of contract management principles
and practices
Highly developed organisational and time management skills,
with proven ability to effectively prioritise multiple tasks to
meet deadlines and achieve desired outcomes
Highly developed written communication skills, including
the ability to prepare high level reports regarding waste
management and related environmental issues
Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry
experience
