Your role
You will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, partnering with them to build high-performing, engaged and inclusive teams while delivering both strategic and operational HR support across the employee lifecycle. A key focus of the role will be providing expert guidance on Enterprise Agreement (EA) interpretation, Industrial Relations (IR) and Employee Relations (ER), supporting leaders to navigate complex workplace matters, union engagement, performance and conduct issues, and organisational change with confidence.
Working within a collaborative People & Culture team, you’ll also lead workforce planning, talent and leadership initiatives, organisational design and people-focused programs that drive business outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional who thrives on influencing outcomes, building strong stakeholder relationships and shaping positive employee experiences, while helping to build the workforce that will power Victoria’s renewable energy future
This is an 18-month fixed term contract.
This role can be based in either our Melbourne CBD office or our regional office located in Morwell .
What you will do:
Some of the core accountabilities include:
- Strategic Partnership - Partner with leaders across the business to deliver SEC’s people strategy and workforce priorities,
providing trusted coaching and expert advice to strengthen leadership capability, foster a positive and inclusive culture, and support business objectives.
- Effective management of people issues and cases - Partner with leaders to effectively manage complex, sensitive and high-risk people matters, providing expert guidance on employee relations issues
- Delivery of P&C; services into the business - Act as SEC’s subject matter expert for Enterprise Agreement (EA) interpretation and issue resolution, providing transparent, practical guidance to leaders on IR and ER matters.
Who you are: Experiences and Skills:
Must Have:
- Demonstrated experience interpreting industrial instruments, supporting consultation processes and building constructive relationships with unions and employee representatives.
- Experience as a P&C; BP to senior leaders and executives, providing strategic and practical support
- Exposure and experience within EA environments
- Experience coaching and guiding leaders on a broad range of complex and sensitive employee relations matters
Highly Desirable:
- Understanding of psychosocial health and safety obligations and their practical application within people leadership
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or a related discipline is highly desirable.
