The Opportunity

Are you a seasoned network security expert ready to lead transformative change in a dynamic environment?

/n

As our Network Security Technology Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and supporting secure network infrastructure across Medibank. You'll be the go-to technical authority for complex faults, strategic product ownership, and driving innovation through automation and Zero Trust principles.

/n

Key Responsibilities:

/n

Provide expert-level support for firewalls, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and load balancers.

/n

Lead technical design and implementation of secure network and cloud services.

/n

Own and evolve technologies like Network Access Control, VPN, and SASE.

/n

Collaborate across teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions aligned with CIS/NIST standards.

/n

Drive compliance with frameworks including PCI-DSS, ISO27001, and uplift security posture.

/n

Champion automation and Dev SecOps practices to streamline operations.

/n

Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

/n

Must Haves:

/n

Degree in IT or related field.

/n

10+ years' experience with Cisco routing and switching (CCIE certified).

/n

5+ years' experience with Fortinet technologies (NSE7 certified).

/n

Deep expertise in remote access, NAC, and certificate-based authentication.

/n

Proven ability to create and maintain detailed design documentation.

/n

Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement skills.

/n

Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and cloud routing protocols (e.g., IPSEC, GRE, GENEVE).

/n

Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, insurance).





/n

Strongly Desirable:

/n

Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, SASE).

/n

Experience with micro-segmentation and network management platforms.

/n

Background in mentoring and coaching technical teams.

/n
