Land Air Sea Space is a specialist designer and manufacturer of electrical interconnecting systems. The company designs and manufactures cable assemblies and wired enclosures and requires accurate engineering documentation to support efficient, high-quality manufacturing.
They are seeking a Draftsperson (2D CAD) to join their team.
The Role
The positions will be based at Cromer, NSW. The Draftsperson role is a full time position and is duly remunerated at an annual salary of $85.000 plus superannuation.
The Responsibilities
Produce accurate 2D CAD drawings and technical documentation to support the manufacture of cable assemblies and wired enclosures.
Interpret customer specifications, drawings and engineering requirements to prepare production-ready documentation for efficient and high-quality manufacturing.
Create, update and maintain technical drawings, wiring schematics, layouts and associated engineering documentation.
Revise engineering drawings and documentation to reflect approved design changes, customer requirements and internal engineering updates.
Ensure all drawings and technical documents are accurate, controlled and maintained in accordance with company procedures.
Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure drawings accurately support manufacturing requirements.
Provide clear and accurate production documentation to support assembly efficiency and minimise manufacturing errors.
Assist in resolving drawing-related production issues and implement engineering updates where required.
Support prototype builds, first-off assemblies and engineering validation activities when required.
Liaise with engineers,
production personnel and customer representatives regarding technical drawing requirements and design clarifications.
Respond to engineering queries and provide technical support during the manufacturing process.
Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders to ensure projects are completed within required timeframes.
Identify opportunities to improve drawing standards, documentation processes and engineering efficiency.
Assist with engineering document control, quality initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Support improved engineering practices that promote a right first time manufacturing culture.
The Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering, CAD Design, or a related discipline.
At least?3 years of experience?in 2D CAD drafting or a similar drafting role.
At least?3 years of experience?using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
At least?3 years of experience?producing technical drawings and engineering documentation.
At least?3 years of experience?interpreting technical drawings, customer specifications and engineering requirements.
At least?3 years of experience?working within a manufacturing or engineering workplace.
At least?3 years of experience?creating and maintaining wiring schematics, layouts and associated technical documentation.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing production-ready documentation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with Engineering and Production teams.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and complete documentation within required timeframes.
Commitment to quality, continuous improvement and a “right first time” approach.
