About the role

SENT is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Melbourne operation.

We are a growing Australian transport and logistics company operating across regional distribution, interstate linehaul, local transport, parcel delivery, warehousing and cross-dock services.

With our Melbourne operation continuing to expand, we are looking for someone who knows the transport industry, knows how to find opportunities and can turn those opportunities into long-term customers.

This is a genuine sales role.
Your main focus is winning new business.

What you'll be doing

- Find and develop recent transport and logistics customers

- Build relationships with transport, logistics, procurement and supply chain managers

- Generate your own leads and opportunities

- Attend customer meetings and site visits

- Identify new tenders and contract opportunities

- Work with our management and finance team to develop pricing and proposals

- Present proposals and negotiate with customers

- Help transition new customers into our operations team

- Maintain relationships with the customers you bring into the business

What we are looking for

- Experience in transport, freight or logistics sales

- Existing knowledge of the Melbourne transport market

- Strong network and industry relationships would be highly regarded





- Proven ability to win new business

- Good understanding of transport pricing and operations

- Confident dealing directly with senior customer contacts

- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently

- Commercially minded — we want profitable business, not revenue for the sake of revenue

Experience selling interstate linehaul, local distribution, dedicated transport, warehousing/3PL or parcel distribution would be particularly valuable.

- $105,000 – $125,000 base salary (based on experience)
