We're looking for an experienced Team Leader Sports Turf to lead our Sports Turf team and help maintain some of the Shire's premier sporting facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine your technical expertise, passion for turf management and people leadership skills to deliver outstanding outcomes for our community.

About the role

As Team Leader Sports Turf, you'll coordinate the day-to-day activities of a Sports Turf team, ensuring our sports fields and precincts are maintained to a high standard and are safe, accessible and ready for play.

This is a leadership role with plenty of time on the tools. You'll work alongside your team, providing practical guidance, technical expertise and support while coordinating daily work programs and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

A key focus of the role is the preparation and maintenance of turf cricket pitches, along with the management of a variety of sports turf surfaces across the Shire.

You'll also play an important role in developing your team through coaching, mentoring and on-the-job training.

About you

You'll bring:

- Certificate III in Sports Turf Management, Greenkeeping or equivalent
- AQF3/Chemcert or equivalent
- White Card
- Demonstrated experience in cricket pitch preparation

Experience managing a variety of sports turf surfaces

Experience leading, coaching or mentoring team members and apprentices

A strong commitment to workplace safety

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Desirable:

- MR Driver Licence
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Additional qualifications in horticulture or sports turf management

- Interview date: Interviews will be facilitated within 2 weeks of job ad closing.
- Package: $81,866 - $86,777 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Permanent Full Time - working 38 hours per week, 9-day fortnight.
