A qualified Environmental Consultant will support Arup’s Queensland Workplace team in delivering environmental planning, impact assessment, and statutory approvals across major transport, energy, water and resources projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide environmental planning, impact assessment, and approvals support for a range of infrastructure, energy, water and government projects.
- Prepare environmental reports, assessments and technical documentation that deliver clear advice and practical solutions for clients.
- Contribute to bids, tenders and business development activities by providing environmental expertise and strategic input.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and liaise with specialists across the business to deliver integrated project outcomes.
- Manage defined project tasks with minimal supervision while ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with relevant environmental legislation and approval requirements.
Qualifications
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 4 to 6 years of professional experience in environmental consulting in Queensland, including transport infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience in environmental planning, environmental impact assessment, and statutory approval processes.
- Strong understanding of relevant Queensland and Australian environmental legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and industry guidelines.
- Familiarity with GIS, data analysis, or digital tools for environmental assessment.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and report‑writing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, manage competing priorities, and maintain a strong focus on sustainability and quality outcomes.
