Client

The project stems from the acquisition by a global PE firm of two companies from a third in a well established financial services company. The project is to carve out the two companies leaving three standalone companies.

Role

General Background:

1. Architecture Design: Design and architect robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of the organization, considering factors such as performance, availability, and cost-effectiveness.

2. Infrastructure Implementation: Lead the implementation of infrastructure projects, including cloud-based solutions, network architecture, server infrastructure, storage systems, and virtualization technologies.

3. Security Planning and Implementation: Develop comprehensive security strategies and implement best practices to safeguard the organization's systems, data, and networks against potential threats and vulnerabilities.

4. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security risks and develop mitigation plans to address them effectively.

5. Compliance and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the organization's infrastructure and security systems comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.

6. Incident Response and Disaster Recovery:



Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures to address security incidents effectively. Implement disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of a system failure or cyber attack.

7. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and management, to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

8. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging technologies, security threats, and industry best practices. Continuously evaluate and improve the organization's infrastructure and security posture to ensure ongoing effectiveness and relevance.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure architecture, network design, and security architecture.

- Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and infrastructure-as-code principles.

- Proficiency in network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.





- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Robust communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Logistics

Start date: The project will commence at 6 months duration and pending satisfactory performance continue for at least 1-3 years

There are three / four roles that are required in the short term - the fourth may be required later.

Location: Sydney (Remote possible for the right candidate)

Rate: The daily rate to the consultant will be $1,200 per day paid plus gst to the right professional.
