Who we are

Skykraft delivers Air Traffic Management (ATM) services from space to serve the global market for air traffic surveillance and communications, especially over remote and oceanic regions. Headquartered in Australia, we use a small satellite approach and dedicated ATM infrastructure to deliver services to Air Navigation Service Providers (ANPSs) worldwide.

Role Purpose

The IT Platform Engineer will take ownership of our Azure cloud infrastructure and on-prem systems and ensure they are fit for purpose for supporting our R&D; teams, office teams and spacecraft operations team. This role requires a valuable working knowledge of Azure in terms of designing infrastructure solutions and implementing and managing those solutions. Strong networking skills and good knowledge of Linux and Windows will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & Cloud

·Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure (primarily Azure)

·Manage virtual networks, firewalls, VPNs, routing, and private connectivity

·Support hybrid environments integrating cloud and on-prem systems

·Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and capacity

End-User & Endpoint Management

·Provision and manage Windows and Linux endpoints

·Administer identity, access, and device management (Entra ID / Intune)

·Support secure remote access and role-based access control

·Provide support and resolution for complex IT issues

Security & Compliance

·Implement and enforce security controls aligned with ISO 27001 and internal policies

·Manage patching, vulnerability remediation, and security tooling

·Support audits,



risk assessments, and compliance evidence collection

·Monitor logs, alerts, and security posture across IT systems

Networking

·Design and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud networking configurations

·Troubleshoot network performance and connectivity issues

·Maintain accurate network diagrams and documentation

Automation & DevOps Support

·Automate IT workflows using PowerShell, Bash, or Python or similar

·Integrate IT services with CI/CD pipelines where required

·Improve repeatability and consistency across IT operations

Documentation & Process

·Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams

·Contribute to IT standards, operational procedures, and improvement initiatives

·Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical

·Solid experience with Microsoft Azure (VNets, VMs, Firewalls, VPNs, IAM)

·Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, VPN)

·Experience with Windows and Linux system administration

·Knowledge of security fundamentals (IAM, least privilege, patching)

·Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar)

Professional

·Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

·Ability to work independently in technically complex environments

·Clear written and verbal communication skills

·High attention to detail and documentation qual

Desirable Skills

·Experience with ISO 27001 or other security frameworks

·Familiarity with Azure DevOps / CI/CD environments

·Experience supporting engineering or mission-critical systems

·Experience with Docker, K8S, IaC, Ansible, Terraform

·Background in high-availability or regulated environments

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

Certifications such as Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), CISSP or similar are a plus
