About the role
Reporting to the Coordinator Assets, the Assets Engineer will prepare Asset Management Plans, scope, and plan future capital works, prepare 10 Year Capital Works Plans and provide technical advice and recommendations to facilitate accurate and effective management of the City’s assets.

In addition, the position will be required to:
• Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure condition, performance, valuation, and other key asset data is up to date and accurately recorded;
• Liaise with the government departments, public utilities, public, elected members, staff, and other agencies on Assets related technical issues and current and future strategic works.
• Provide support to Coordinator Assets in the development and review of Asset Management Plans as well as Asset Management Procedures and Guidelines; and
• In collaboration with the Coordinator Asset Management, calculate key asset management financial ratios including asset sustainability ratio, asset consumption ratio and asset renewal funding ratio.

About the successful candidate
To be considered for the role,



you will have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent demonstrated experience and have well-developed knowledge of asset management principles and practices together with knowledge of the development of capital budgets.

The successful applicant will also have;
• Well-developed knowledge of asset management principles and practices including condition assessment, risk assessment, maintenance practices, levels of service, asset revaluation/depreciation, forward planning, asset management strategy;
• Experience in the management, delivery, and/or maintenance of Civil Infrastructure; and
• Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating with and influencing stakeholders across all levels of an organisation. Advanced analytical skill of Microsoft Excel to manipulate, analyse, and present data is highly desirable.
