Are you passionate about preserving and enhancing natural landscapes? Yarra Ranges Council is looking for a dedicated Bushland Crew Member to support the maintenance of our reserves and roadside areas. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Bushland team to implement maintenance programs that protect and sustain these vital environments.
This is a 3 month, or until mid-November, full-time temporary position (leave backfill) (38 hours per week).
This is a Band 3 role with an hourly rate from $33.69 to $36.67 per hour. Support work-life balance with a fortnightly or monthly RDO and flexible working arrangements.
Experience and skills we’re looking for
- A knowledge of natural resource management techniques and principles and an understanding of terminology and descriptions used within discipline.
- The ability to identify indigenous and exotic flora and fauna, environmental weeds and understand their management.
- The skills to undertake fixed asset structure repair and maintenance.
- Positive working knowledge of selection and operation of small to medium plant and equipment.
- Knowledge of basic fire ecology and management issues.
