Specialist Communications Technician

Location: Prominent Hill, SA
Roster: 8:6 | Day Shift Only
FIFO: Adelaide
Contract: 6–12 months

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Communications Technician to support communications and Operational Technology systems within a mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform planned and breakdown maintenance across Operational Technology systems.
- Support wireless communication infrastructure across site and remote locations.
- Configure, install and troubleshoot digital radio systems.
- Configure, install and maintain CCTV systems.
- Provide technical support across the Technology team.
- Complete scheduled work orders and associated work instructions.
- Participate in risk assessments, site processes and management of change activities.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Accurately report events, work requirements and hazards.
- Maintain high standards of safety and operational excellence.

About You

- Trade qualification in Auto Electrical, Radio Communications, Electronics or Industrial Electrical.
- Experience with:
- Digital radio systems
- Fibre networks
- CCTV systems
- Wi-Fi management
- IP networks

- Familiarity with mining Operations Technology and communications networks.




- Experience working in industrial or mining environments highly desirable.
- Open/unrestricted Cabling Licence is preferable.
- Security Licence is advantageous.
- Australian C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to take ownership and see solutions through to completion.
