Job Description

Position: APS4 Records Management Officer
Location: Perth, WA
Start date: ASAP
Duration: Approx. 3 months with potential to extend
Pay rate: $50.96 - $55.33 per hour plus 12% superannuation
Security requirements: Must be an Australian citizen at time of application

Overview:

Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced APS4 Records Management Officer to join a small team in Perth. The successful candidate will provide support across information and records management practices, with a particular focus on physical records, file management and offsite storage.

Working under general supervision, you will assist with maintaining accurate records, supporting file sentencing and storage activities, responding to records enquiries, and contributing to records management reporting and audits.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with the management of physical records and maintain accurate file inventories.
- Work with relevant staff to update and improve records management processes.
- Assist with sentencing case and corporate files held onsite and in offsite storage.
- List and prepare files and other records for transfer to offsite storage or archival storage.
- Respond to records enquiries and assist with file retrievals and collections from offsite storage providers.
- Contribute to reporting on physical case and corporate files held onsite and offsite.
- Participate in internal audits of information and records management practices.
- Contribute to team planning, reporting and outcomes.
- Assist with broader projects and other records management activities as required.




- Monitor and respond to requests for records management assistance.

Experience/requirements:

- Experience in physical records management practices.
- Sound understanding of relevant records management legislation, policies and standards.
- Experience managing case and corporate files and working with offsite storage providers.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues relating to records management and storage providers.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide records management advice.
- Ability to interpret and apply records management policies and procedures using sound judgement.
- Robust stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work cooperatively within a team.
- Ability to contribute to process improvements and initiatives that enhance service quality and efficiency.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
