What you'll be doing
The CALD Registered Midwife - Lactation Consultant is part of the CALD MAPS Continuity model of care at Blacktown Maternity Services. The role is to provide targeted interventions and support to increase engagement and reduce risks for women and babies.

• Deliver person centred midwifery and lactation care to CALD families
• Assess feeding needs, provide education and make appropriate referrals
• Supervise and mentor staff and students in culturally safe practice
• Respond to clinical changes and coordinate care within the team
• Advocate for patients while managing resources and service priorities

- Registration: Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife

Selection Criteria

1. Previous relevant clinical experience in speciality.

2. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.

3. Demonstrated effective communication skills both written and verbal.

4. Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

5. Commitment to continuing professional development.

6. Effective interpersonal skills showing initiative and leadership to junior members of the team .
