About the Section
The Communications section delivers cohesive, user focused communications that support agency priorities. We bring together external and internal communications, content creation, a creative studio and web and channel management, to produce impactful and accessible information.Working closely with all areas of the agency and informed by data and research, we translate goals into practical strategies and high-quality outputs across our communication channels. The purpose and objectives of the section are to:
deliver strategic, clear, consistent, accessible communication that builds trust and supports the agency’s objectives and prioritiesprovide a centralised, integrated service across content, design, website and channel management which is coordinated through business partnering and scheduling to ensure seamless deliveryalign communications with standards, manage risk and emerging issues, create user-focused and user informed content and digital experiences,



optimise resources and continuously improve through data-driven insightspartner with business areas to develop integrated briefs and plans and report on outcomes for continuous improvementdesign and publish brand-consistent, accessible content and creative assets that make complex information clear and engagingmaintain governance for websites and channels, refine user experience and information architecture, and implement improvements based on performance data and feedback.
About the Role
We are seeking an APS Level 6 Senior Communications Content Developer to create and deliver high-quality, audience-centred communication products that support the Clean Energy Regulator’s strategic objectives. This role combines strong writing, content design and digital publishing expertise to produce accurate, accessible and engaging content across a range of channels, while working collaboratively with stakeholders and colleagues to enhance awareness, support compliance, and deliver effective education outcomes.
Under limited direction, the Senior Communications Content Developer will:
Develop engaging and accurate content for digital, print and multimedia channels, including web/intranet pages, social posts, email campaigns, forms, technical documents, collateral, and news items.Understand CER’s operations and schemes to ensure content is accurate, relevant and tailor content for specific audiences and platforms, ensuring alignment with agency objectives and desired outcomes.Participate in early discussions to test ideas and co-create communication concepts and solutions,



validating assumptions and ensuring recommendations are practical, achievable and grounded in insights and user need.Collaborate with Business Partners and internal customers to interpret strategic briefs and ensure content accuracy and clarity throughout production.Apply strong writing and editing skills, maintaining appropriate grammar, tone, and structure for each format and audience.Demonstrate and advocate for best-practice content design.Ensure all content complies with brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and editorial style guides, optimising usability and engagement.Upload and manage content across digital platforms, maintaining correct formatting, metadata tagging, version control, and governance.Troubleshoot publishing issues and maintain records of published materials to ensure transparency and accountability.Contribute ideas for innovative content formats and approaches, informed by contemporary communication practices and performance insights.Manage publishing through a range of platforms including Drupal, Mailchimp, SharePoint and social media.Support team capability by sharing knowledge, offering guidance to colleagues on digital publication processes, and contributing to a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
