Senior Policy Officers take a lead role on policy projects as they arise such as the formulation and evaluation of best practice policies, procedures, programs and activities for the NDIS Commission.
The key duties of the position include:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Critically analyse information, accurately analyse qualitative and quantitative data to identify issues and trends, make sound judgements and problem solve
- Undertake review of literature, data, policy papers and other published material
- Build and sustain positive working relationships with team members in other work areas and external stakeholders
- Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, briefing papers, talking points, minutes and Ministerial correspondence for clearance and presentation to senior staff and the Executive
Eligibility
The occupant of the position:
- Has a positive and contemporary attitude to people with disability
- May manage a team to achieve objectives with a focus on safety, staff wellbeing and high performance
- Has demonstrated ability to establish clear plans and timeframes, see projects through to completion, monitor project progress and adjust plans as required
- Is confident working independently or under limited guidance and positively respond quickly and accurately to change and uncertainty in a fast moving and demanding environment
