EL1 Legislative Policy & Reform Shaping National Reform Senior Role, Disability Sector

Fed Gov, 12 month contract Are you a Policy Specialist who wants to make an impact on a national scale by leading key legislative reform initiatives and enhancing regulatory frameworks? I am currently partnering with a prominent Federal Government agency in the disability sector on an exciting and specialised contract role for an EL1 Legislative Policy & Reform Officer.

This is a critical role focused on leading key projects, including the Rules Review of current registration rules and progressing recent Government reform announcements. About the Opportunity In this pivotal role, you will provide high-level policy, legislative, and regulatory advice to support the Commission's legislative policy and reform functions.

Working as part of a dynamic team, you will drive project delivery across a complex and evolving work program without the requirement of managing direct reports. Key Responsibilities: Legislative Reform & Policy Advice: Lead and review legislative reform initiatives, develop drafting instructions, policy positions, and implementation strategies for proposed reforms.

Executive & Governance Support: Prepare high-quality briefs, submissions, Ministerial/Executive materials, Cabinet papers, and decision records. Stakeholder Engagement: Develop consultation strategies and materials to engage across Commonwealth, state, and territory agencies, regulatory bodies,



sector stakeholders, and people with disability. Project & Risk Management: Lead complex legislative reform projects, monitor milestones, identify regulatory/operational risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Ideally you will possess: Government Policy Experience: Solid legal policy and legislative reform capability gained within the APS, state/territory government, regulatory agencies, or legal policy teams (such as Attorney-General's). Stakeholder Skills: Proven ability to manage consultation processes and collaborate across complex legislative and regulatory environments.
