About the role

Highlands Paint and Panel is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mag Wheel Repairer to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Mittagong, NSW, this role is central to our operations, providing high-quality wheel repair and restoration services to our customers. As a Mag Wheel Repairer, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and refurbishing alloy and mag wheels to the highest standards, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the reputation Highlands Paint and Panel has built in the automotive trades industry.

What you'll be doing

- Inspecting mag and alloy wheels for damage including cracks, bends, corrosion, and structural defects

- Utilising specialised equipment to repair bent or damaged wheels, including straightening and balancing

- Preparing wheels for refinishing through cleaning, stripping, and surface preparation

- Applying primers, paints, and protective coatings to restore wheel appearance and prevent corrosion

- Performing wheel balancing and quality checks to ensure safety and performance standards are met

- Ensuring all work complies with relevant safety standards and industry best practices

- Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Mag Wheel Repairer or in a similar automotive repair role, this is an advantage but not essential

- Strong knowledge of alloy and mag wheel construction, materials, and repair techniques

- Understanding of wheel straightening equipment, balancing machines, and refinishing tools

- Understanding of painting and coating application for wheel restoration

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

- Solid communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers





- Physical fitness to perform manual and repetitive tasks safely

- Relevant automotive trade qualifications or certifications are highly desirable
