About the role:

We are seeking a mid-level zoologist to contribute to a range of exciting projects across Western Australia, with a primary focus on the south-west region. You’ll play a key role in field surveys, data analysis and report writing, contributing to a variety of projects.

You will be based Emerge’s Perth office but service the south-west of WA through our Margaret River office as well as opportunities to travel throughout Western Australia. Most field surveys will be day trips rather than extended, multi-day campaigns, making this an ideal role for someone seeking work-life balance alongside rewarding fieldwork.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and fresh ideas and can provide the right person opportunities for significant growth within the business.

Your key responsibilities:

- Conduct fauna field surveys (basic and targeted surveys, occasional detailed surveys, fauna monitoring and management surveys)

- Critically analyse field data to produce insightful findings.

- Prepare clear, concise, and scientifically robust reports.

- Collaborate with a fun, dedicated team of professionals who value hard work and camaraderie.

What we’re looking for:

- A degree in Zoology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.

- 3+ years’ experience in zoological work, preferably within Western Australia.

- Strong skills in fieldwork, species identification and data analysis, preferably within Western Australia.

- Excellent report-writing abilities and attention to detail.





- Current C class driver’s licence.

- Good level of physical fitness appropriate for field surveys.

- A positive attitude, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and grow with the team.
