Join our Prevention of Violence and Aggression (PoVA) team as a Behaviour Support Consultant on a part time, permanent basis (0.84 EFT). The PoVA Behaviour Support Consultant will provide leadership, education and support to Monash Health services by improving capacity to predict, prevent and respond to aggression and the behaviours that may lead to aggression. The program aims to improve safety for employees, consumers and visitors, and minimise risks related to behaviours of concern and aggression.

- Play a key role in supporting clinical areas to identify and reduce behaviours that can lead to aggression
- Fabulous multidisciplinary clinical leadership opportunity open to nursing, psychology, OT, SW and SP

This position is based at various sites with one or two home sites allocated (Clayton, Dandenong, Casey, Kingston - subject to change), with the requirement to travel between Monash Health sites.

About Us

The PoVA Team is part of the Monash Health, Nursing and Midwifery Education and Practice Improvement department and aims to:

- improve the early recognition of and response to patients demonstrating clinical deterioration and escalating behaviours resulting in episodes of violence and aggression at Monash Health, ensuring they receive protected and high-quality care
- minimise or eliminate any harm experienced by consumers and employees, improve employee experience in responding to these situations and improve outcomes for consumers and the workforce.

What You Need:

- Relevant Qualification and postgraduate qualification (aligned to position description)
- Demonstrated experience (in areas such as mental health, emergency or behavioural management, complex clinical conditions)
- Current registration or endorsement for your discipline (e.g. AHPRA)
- A relevant qualification in training or education would be well regarded
