The Role – Experienced Sign Maker / General Fabricator – All-Rounder

We are seeking an experienced Sign Maker and General Fabricator to join our team in a hands-on, all-rounder position.

This role requires someone with broad practical skills who can work across the complete manufacturing process—from reading drawings and preparing materials through to welding, painting, fabrication, assembly, finishing and installation.

This is not a narrowly focused sign-production role. We need someone who is comfortable working with different materials, tools and manufacturing processes and who can turn their hand to whatever is required to complete a job properly.

You may be fabricating aluminium frames one day, welding steel components the next,



preparing and painting finished products, applying signage or assisting with an onsite installation.

The successful applicant will be practical, resourceful and capable of working independently. You will take ownership of your work, solve problems as they arise and ensure each job is completed accurately, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

- Fabricating and assembling a wide variety of custom signage and manufactured products
- Welding and fabricating aluminium and mild steel components
- Cutting, drilling, grinding, folding and preparing materials
- Preparing, priming and painting fabricated components and finished products
- Working with aluminium, steel, acrylic, plastics, composite panels and timber
- Reading drawings, interpreting measurements and working accurately
- Applying vinyl graphics and assisting with general sign production where required
- Installing signage and fabricated products at client sites
- Using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery safely and confidently
- Checking completed work for quality, accuracy and presentation
- Keeping work areas, tools and equipment clean and organised
- Completing jobs efficiently and within required timeframes




- Identifying problems and developing practical solutions
- Following workplace health and safety procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Proven experience in sign making, metal fabrication or a similar hands-on role
- Broad practical skills across fabrication, welding, painting and assembly
- Experience welding aluminium and mild steel
- Confidence using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery
- The ability to read drawings and work accurately from measurements
- Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of your finished work
- A practical, solutions-focused approach
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good time management and the ability to complete jobs without constant supervision
- A current Australian driver's licence

Experience with CNC routers, laser cutting, digital printing, vinyl application, spray painting or plastics fabrication would be highly regarded.

A forklift licence, White Card and relevant trade qualifications would also be advantageous.
