About the Role

We are looking for confident, reliable and motivated people to join our Brisbane retail team.

No previous precious metals experience is required — comprehensive training is provided.

This is not a typical retail position.

You will learn a specialised industry involving gold and silver bullion, precious metals, jewellery buying and high‑value customer transactions.

You will be trained to assess precious metals, perform accurate calculations, understand live market pricing and confidently assist customers with transactions ranging from a few hundred dollars through to significant investment purchases.

The role is particularly suited to university students, recent graduates and people early in their careers who are good with numbers, quick to learn and comfortable dealing with customers.

Casual positions are available with regular and consistent hours , with opportunities for increased responsibility and permanent employment for high-performing team members.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be trained to:

- Assist customers buying and selling gold and silver bullion
- Purchase gold jewellery and other precious metals from customers
- Calculate precious metal values, weights, premiums and transaction amounts
- Work with live precious metal pricing




- Handle cash, bank transfers and high‑value transactions
- Complete customer identification and compliance procedures
- Maintain accurate transaction and inventory records
- Explain products, pricing and processes clearly to customers
- Develop the skills required to independently manage customer transactions

As your knowledge and experience develop, you will be given greater responsibility and exposure to larger and more complex transactions.

Who We’re Looking For

Previous industry experience is not important to us. Ability, attitude and reliability are.

You should:

- Be confident with mathematics and mental arithmetic
- Be able to use a calculator quickly and accurately
- Have strong attention to detail
- Communicate confidently and professionally
- Be proactive and use initiative
- Be reliable and punctual
- Be comfortable taking responsibility for your work
- Learn new systems and processes quickly
- Have basic computer skills, including Excel and Outlook
- Be capable of working independently once fully trained

Previous experience in retail, customer service, banking, finance, jewellery or sales is helpful but not essential .

University students and recent school or university graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Applicants must:

- Have unrestricted Australian working rights
- Be able to obtain a National Police Check
- Have a current driver's licence and access to reliable transport
- Be available for regular rostered shifts
- Be willing to complete a short numeracy and practical reasoning assessment as part of the recruitment process
