Are you ready to build a rewarding career as an Electrician? Applications are now open for our 2027 Electrical Apprenticeship Program at our South Johnstone Mill , located just 10km from Innisfail.

As an Electrical Apprentice , you'll complete a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician while gaining valuable hands-on experience alongside experienced tradespeople. You'll learn to install, maintain, fault-find, and repair a diverse range of electrical equipment across our sugar milling operations, including factory plant, electrical infrastructure, active cane rail traffic signals throughout the Innisfail region, and our locomotive fleet.

This is an outstanding opportunity to develop highly sought-after trade skills in a unique industrial environment while earning an income and working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

What You'll Learn

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll gain experience in:

Installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial electrical equipment.

Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical systems.

Maintaining factory plant and process equipment.

Servicing cane rail signalling infrastructure and locomotive electrical systems.





Working safely in accordance with industry standards and safe work practices.

Developing practical trade skills under the guidance of experienced Electricians.

About You

We're looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn and committed to building a successful trade career.

Ideally, you will have:

Successfully completed Year 12, including Mathematics (A, B or C), English (or English Communications), and at least one Science subject; or

Completed a Certificate II in Electrotechnology or other relevant pre-vocational studies; or

Relevant work experience demonstrating an interest in the electrical trade.

A genuine interest in becoming a qualified Electrician.

A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

A commitment to working safely at all times.

Reliability, motivation, and a strong work ethic.

The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills and a willingness to contribute to a supportive team environment.
