Our modern, purpose-fitted out clinic in Glen Iris offers a professional, supportive, and patient-centered environment, equipped with the latest technology and designed to deliver an outstanding patient experience.

As our Glen Iris clinic continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

The Role

We are looking for a professional, enthusiastic, and highly organised Medical Receptionist who is passionate about patient care and exceptional customer service.

This is a part time position, working 3 days per week (8:00am to 5:30pm), totaling 27 hours per week.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming experience while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.

Key responsibilities include:

- Greeting patients and visitors in a warm, professional manner
- Managing incoming and outgoing phone calls
- Scheduling, confirming, and coordinating appointments and procedures
- Assisting patients with enquiries and providing exceptional customer service
- Processing payments, invoicing, receipting, and preparing quotes
- Maintaining accurate patient records and administrative documentation
- Supporting general reception and administrative duties
- Adhering to practice policies, procedures, and privacy requirements




- Working collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and fellow reception staff

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous healthcare reception experience (essential)

Experience with Best Practice software (highly regarded)

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail

The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure

A positive, friendly, and professional manner

Strong customer service skills and a patient-first approach

Understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy legislation

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Previous experience in healthcare reception is essential. This position requires on-site attendance.

Training Requirements

The successful applicant will be required to attend our Woodend clinic for an initial two-week onboarding and training period . This hands-on training will provide comprehensive exposure to SkinGP's systems, processes, and patient care standards, ensuring a smooth transition into the role at our Glen Iris clinic. Following the completion of training, the position will be based at our Glen Iris location .
