Laurus Education is seeking a highly organised, passionate and detail oriented Higher Education Administrator to support the organisation, administration and recordkeeping of Laurus Higher Education’s formal academic governance bodies.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator with strong committee or governance support skills who understands the importance of accuracy, confidentiality and professional documentation within a regulated higher education environment.

This is a Part-Time basis (0.6 FTE - 0.8 FTE)

About the Role

The Higher Education Administrator is a Part-Time Position (0.6 FTE - 0.8 FTE) located in Melbourne playing an important role in supporting the effective operation of Laurus Education’s academic governance framework. You will work closely with committee chairs, academic staff, the Chief Academic Officer and Risk, Quality & Compliance teams to ensure governance activities are organised, documented and maintained to a high professional standard.

You will coordinate meetings across key academic governance bodies, including the Academic Board, Board of Examiners, Learning and Teaching Committee and Course Advisory Committee. The role will also maintain governance calendars, action registers, policy registers and committee records, ensuring documentation is accurate, accessible and audit-ready.

The role requires a high level of attention to detail, discretion and written communication, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and sensitive information in a professional and regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate meetings, agendas, papers and minutes for academic governance committees





Ensure meetings are properly organised and documentation is prepared and circulated within required timeframes

Maintain accurate records of decisions, actions and outcomes

Maintain the annual academic governance calendar and committee schedules

Track action items and follow up with relevant stakeholders

Maintain an organised and accessible governance recordkeeping system

Maintain governance records in line with institutional and regulatory requirements

Support accurate records of committee membership, terms of reference, quorum and meeting requirements

Assist with audit and regulatory documentation as required

Maintain the academic policy and procedure register, including version control and review schedules

Coordinate policy reviews, approvals and updates through relevant governance processes

Support academic correspondence and administrative processes on behalf of the Chief Academic Officer

Act as a professional point of contact for committee members, academic staff and external stakeholders

Prepare clear and professional correspondence, documentation and meeting materials

Escalate sensitive or complex matters appropriately

Handle academic governance, student and other sensitive information with a high level of discretion

Maintain accurate, secure and confidential records in accordance with organisational requirements

About You





You are an organised and reliable administrator with excellent attention to detail and strong written communication skills. You are comfortable working with committees, managing deadlines and handling confidential information, and you take pride in producing accurate and qualified documentation.

You will bring:

Strong committee, governance or secretariat administration experience

Excellent minute-taking and written communication skills

Strong organisational and time management capability

High attention to detail and accuracy

Professional judgement and discretion

Confidence using Microsoft Office and document management systems

The ability to manage competing priorities independently

Nice to have (but not essential) :

Experience within higher education or academic administration

Excellent written English and documentation skills

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook

Understanding of academic governance structures.

Familiarity with TEQSA and the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF)

Experience with SharePoint or similar document management systems

Diploma or Certificate IV in Business Administration or a related field
