ASG Industrial Pty Ltd is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Trainees for the Water & Civil Industry to join our growing team in Melbourne.This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to launch your career in the trades and services sector. As a trainee, you will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience and developing practical skills in water and civil construction projects. This role is fundamental to building your foundation in the industry and contributing to the successful delivery of our projects.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting experienced tradespeople and supervisors on our our existing contracts at Melbourne Water, South East Water, Central Highlands Water, Yarra Vallay Water, South East Water and local councils.
- Performing manual labour tasks including site preparation, material handling, and equipment operation under supervision
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in accordance with site safety standards and procedures
- Learning and applying best practices in water and civil industry techniques and methodologies
- Operating hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively
- Supporting the completion of tasks related to drainage, cleaning drainage systems and associated civil infrastructure networks
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting on daily activities and site conditions
- Adhering to all health, safety and environmental regulations on site
- Assisting with the transportation and storage of materials and equipment
- Attending and actively participating in on-site toolbox meetings and training sessions

What we're looking for

- A genuine desire to learn and develop a career in the water and civil industry
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability and punctuality




- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to health and safety practices on construction sites
- Current or willingness to obtain a White Card (Construction Induction Certificate)
- A valid driver's licence is highly desirable
- The ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks
- No prior experience required – we welcome school leavers and career changers seeking a traineeship opportunity
