About the role
As a Community Engagement Worker, this is your opportunity to strengthen The Salvation Army’s mission in Albury Wodonga by building meaningful community connections, responding to local needs, and embedding community engagement into the life of the corps. Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, part-time role offering 22.8 hours a week, based in Wodonga, VIC.
This role requires you to work on both Wednesday and Friday with flexibility around the remaining day.
How you will make an impact
- Identify and respond to community needs through outreach, engagement, and local partnerships.
- Coordinate Doorways services, providing emergency relief, assessments, referrals, and ongoing support.
- Recruit, train, support, and lead volunteers to ensure effective and compassionate service delivery.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organisations, agencies,
and Salvation Army services to strengthen support pathways.
- Integrate faith, service, and community engagement to foster connection, belonging, and participation beyond crisis support.
- Support daily operations, including administration, compliance, handling donated goods, and delivering community programs and outreach activities.
What you will bring
- Tertiary or Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent
- Experience in the community services sector and The Salvation Army (desirable)
- Experience in volunteer management
- Experience working with different cultures
- A national police record check is required
- Drivers Licence
