The Mechanical Maintenance Planner & Projects Supervisor is responsible for the effective coordination of planned mechanical maintenance activities at the Laverton Mill.
This role is responsible for ensuring maintenance activities support production requirements while meeting safety, environmental, and quality standards. You will oversee development and improvement of equipment inspections.Spare parts management to support department and maintain plant reliability, improve efficiency, and cost control programs.
The role requires planning and delivering small to medium-sized projects, including shutdown, EM, PGC, or small CapEx projects. The incumbent must ensure these projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
What you will be doing:
- Coordinate, support and prioritise maintenance activities across Mechanical, Electrical, and operational teams.
- Plan and prepare maintenance work packs, risk assessments, SWIs, and JSAs to ensure safe and efficient execution of work.
- Manage shutdown planning, task allocation, and maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
- Oversee spare parts inventory, MRP processes, and procurement coordination to ensure materials are available when required.
- Inspect equipment and components to identify maintenance needs and support Engineering preventative maintenance programs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, asset histories,
and documentation to support ongoing operational performance.
- Provide technical support to maintenance teams, coordinate contractors, and ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
- Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, safety observations, and reinforcement of secure behaviours.
- Provide assistance and relieve existing planning staff when on leave.

What you will bring:
- Trade Certificate or Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in mechanical maintenance planning in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning,
spare parts management, and inventory control.
- Proficient in SAP and or other maintenance management systems.
- Excellent communication, organisation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and working collaboratively across teams.
