Job Description
Reporting to the Superintendent Process Control, this role is responsible for monitoring, optimising, and improving water treatment and tailings management systems to support safe, compliant, and efficient operations across WA sites. The position is based in Mt Weld, however frequent travel to Kalgoorlie is required as this is a WA wide position.
As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team, you will:
- Monitor and optimise water treatment and tailings processes
- Support Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF) operations, water recovery, and water balance management, from a technical perspective
- Analyse process and environmental data to identify improvement opportunities
- Assist with process optimisation projects, investigations, and trials
- Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Environmental teams
- Prepare technical reports, procedures, and performance metrics
- Promote strong HSE and continuous improvement practices

About The Candidate
- Degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
- 3-7 years' experience in process engineering within mining or heavy industry
- Experience with water treatment systems and process optimisation
- Exposure to tailings systems and TSFs highly regarded
- Solid analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work across remote FIFO operations
- Commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence
Candidates with the following desirable qualifications and experience will be highly regarded:
- Design, commissioning, and optimisation of water treatment and tailings-related projects
- Water treatment chemicals
- Dangerous goods and process safety
- Postgraduate qualifications
- Membership with a relevant professional body
- Command in water chemistry / simulation software (i.e. Visual Minteq, etc.).
