About Congress:

Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service providing comprehensive primary health care to Aboriginal people across Alice Springs and remote communities in Central Australia.

CYATS is part of the Child, Youth and Family Services Division and provides specialist multidisciplinary assessment, treatment and early intervention for children and young people. You’ll work alongside Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists, Aboriginal Family Support Workers and Clinical Case Coordinators.

About the Role:

As a Speech Pathologist within CYATS, you will support children and young people aged 0–18 and their families to optimise development and wellbeing.

You will:

- Conduct speech, language and developmental assessments and observations

- Provide evidence-based intervention, strategies and intensive support

- Manage a clinical caseload involving assessment and treatment

- Support children experiencing FASD, Autism, ADHD and other developmental challenges





- Provide education and practical strategies to families, carers, support staff and external partners

- Participate in case coordination and care plan reviews

- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external services

- Provide outreach support to children and families

- Prepare clinical reports and contribute to coordinated care

About You:

- Degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership

- Relevant postgraduate experience working with children and families presenting with complex needs

- Experience in assessment and intervention across childhood disabilities and developmental challenges

- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team

- Strong understanding of Aboriginal health, culture and the issues impacting Aboriginal children and families

- Knowledge of Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) requirements

- Current NT Driver Licence or ability to obtain

- Postgraduate qualifications in child health/development and experience working with Aboriginal communities in Central Australia will be highly regarded.
