Sydney, NSW | $90,000 + Super + Vehicle Allowance + Performance Incentives

An established NSW commercial cleaning and facility services provider is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to help manage, retain and grow our NSW client portfolio.

This is primarily an operations and client-management role , with a commercial component.

Your main responsibility will be ensuring our existing clients are well looked after, service standards are maintained, operational issues are resolved and our cleaning teams are performing effectively.

You will also support new business opportunities generated by the company by attending prospective client meetings, conducting site inspections, assisting with quotations and submissions, and helping nurture opportunities through to contract award.

You will not be expected to spend your time cold calling or generating a sales pipeline from scratch.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial cleaning and facility-services clients across Sydney and NSW.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Building strong relationships with existing clients.

- Conducting regular client meetings and site visits.

- Ensuring cleaning standards and contractual requirements are maintained.

- Managing cleaners, supervisors and subcontractors.

- Conducting inspections and following up corrective actions.

- Resolving complaints and service issues quickly and professionally.

- Monitoring staffing, labour performance and operational efficiency.

- Supporting contract renewals and identifying opportunities within existing accounts.

- Mobilising recent contracts and helping transition them into stable operations.

- Developing capable supervisors and operational teams beneath you.

A key part of the role is being proactive with clients rather than waiting for problems to arise.

We want our clients to feel that their Operations Manager understands their sites, communicates regularly and takes ownership when something needs attention.

Supporting New Business

The company will generate prospective client opportunities through its own outbound sales and marketing activity.





Once an opportunity reaches the appropriate stage, you may be responsible for:

- Attending meetings with prospective clients.

- Conducting site inspections.

- Understanding cleaning and operational requirements.

- Helping develop scopes of work.

- Assisting with labour modelling, quotations and tender submissions.

- Presenting how the proposed service will operate.

- Following up and nurturing prospective clients.

- Supporting contract negotiations and mobilisation.

You do not need to be a traditional salesperson.

You do need to be commercially confident, professional with prospective clients and capable of helping turn an opportunity into a practical and commercially viable service solution.

- Labour performance against contract budgets.

- Development of cleaners, supervisors and subcontractors.

- Successful mobilisation of new contracts.

- Effective support of prospective client opportunities.

What We Are Looking For

Ideally, you will have:

- Experience in commercial cleaning, facility services or a similar outsourced-services environment.

- Experience managing commercial client relationships.

- Experience managing cleaners, supervisors, subcontractors or field-based teams.

- Strong operational and problem-solving skills.

- Confidence conducting client meetings and site inspections.

- Strong communication and relationship-management skills.

- Experience managing service issues and client complaints.

- An understanding of labour budgets, wages and operational costs.

- The ability to assist with scopes,



quotations and commercial submissions.

- Confidence dealing with prospective clients.

- The ability to remain hands-on when required while also delegating effectively.

- A current driver's licence, suitable vehicle and full Australian working rights.

Experience managing multi-site commercial cleaning portfolios will be highly regarded.
