About the Program

Ngukuthati Children and Family Centre supports First Nations children aged 0–8 years and their families through early childhood education, intensive family support, child and parental health services, and Men’s Shed programs.

The Centre promotes strong families, healthy development, and positive community connections.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated and skilled Playgroup Support Worker to support children and families during the early years.

The successful applicant will assist clients to access appropriate resources and services to achieve their goals while building strong, respectful partnerships with education, health and family support services across the region.

The Playgroup Support Worker will also contribute to and coordinate key stages of the case management process, working collaboratively with families, the community and the broader service network.

Key Requirements

- A qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care, Social Work, or a related field .





- Knowledge and understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and frameworks .

- Demonstrated ability to build positive, respectful and trusting relationships with children and families.

- Experience in case management and service coordination .

- A current Positive Blue Card .

- A current National Police Check .

- A current, clean Open Queensland Driver Licence .

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a large, multidisciplinary team.

- High-level computer skills, including experience with data entry, record keeping and performance reporting .

- Robust written and verbal communication skills.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, respectfully and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities .

- A commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed and family-centred practice.
