The statutory and regulatory Manager has an essential role to play in ensuring that the regulatory and reporting obligations are met and executed to a high standard, delivered on time and compliant with accounting and prudential standards. They will lead initiatives to continually improve & automate processes and reporting to drive and deliver finance transformation.
The role will cover the activities and entities across Latitude Financial Services in Australia and Recent Zealand and include technical accounting advice, accounting policy and company financial status. You will work closely with the broader Finance Department to ensure compliance, business drivers and financial outcomes are understood and delivered. The role is critical in providing support to the Statutory and Regulatory Reporting Leader to ensure that the business is fully compliant with external reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Actively contribute to the business strategy,
achieving personal and departmental goals that align to Latitude and the Finance Function objectives.
Initiate and lead finance transformation initiatives, with a focus on automation, including maximising Certent Disclosure Management system (CDM) capabilities and utilising Workday reporting functionality to our advantage.
Preparation and monitoring of company’s financial position including around dividend repatriation and solvency, ensuring the financial position is in accordance all relevant regulatory requirements and providing analysis to Directors and Senior Management.
Provide critical technical accounting advice to ensure key changes in accounting pronouncements are communicated and their impact is modelled. Assist with technical accounting determination of any business combinations or structural changes.
Responsible for ongoing hedge accounting requirements under AASB 139/9.
Utilise business acumen to facilitate financial control, compliance and mitigation of risk.
