We are seeking an experienced Anti-Dumping Manager to lead trade remedies, regulatory compliance, and market risk management for our business within the Australian steel sector. The role is responsible for overseeing anti-dumping and countervailing matters, shaping business strategy in response to unfair import competition, and advising senior stakeholders on commercial, legal, and regulatory risk. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of steel products and supply chains, robust leadership capability, and practical experience working within Australia’s anti-dumping framework, including engagement with the Anti-Dumping Commission and related customs and trade requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the company’s anti-dumping and trade remedies strategy across steel product lines in Australia.

Manage anti-dumping and countervailing matters, including investigations, reviews, submissions, data validation, and cross-functional response planning.

Provide strategic advice to leadership team on import competition, pricing risk, sourcing decisions, and regulatory exposure.

Oversee analysis of import pricing, market share, injury indicators, cost structures, and trade flows to support decision‑making.

Serve as the primary internal liaison with legal counsel, customs specialists, industry bodies, and external advisers on trade remedy matters.

Monitor developments in anti-dumping measures, government notices, tariff settings, and enforcement trends affecting steel imports.

Develop and maintain governance processes, reporting frameworks, and internal controls to support compliance and audit readiness.





Lead and coordinate analysts or cross‑functional team members supporting trade compliance, pricing analysis, and investigations.

Represent the business in industry consultations and contribute to advocacy on fair trade and the competitiveness of Australian steel manufacturing.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in law, economics, international trade, commerce, finance, metallurgy, engineering, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.

Significant experience in anti-dumping, countervailing, customs, trade compliance, or trade remedies, with exposure to steel, metals, manufacturing, or industrial markets.

Demonstrated experience managing complex regulatory matters, investigations, submissions, or commercial risk issues in Australia.

Strong understanding of Australia’s anti-dumping and countervailing system, relevant customs requirements, and practical engagement with government processes.

Deep commercial understanding of steel products, manufacturing economics, import competition, supply chains, and market dynamics.

Proven ability to lead cross‑functional stakeholders and communicate complex legal and economic issues to senior decision‑makers.

Advanced analytical capability, including experience with pricing models, financial analysis, import data, and regulatory reporting.

Skills and Capability

Knowledge of World Trade Organization trade remedy principles and their application within the Australian regulatory environment.

Strong leadership capability, including team development, workload prioritisation, and executive‑level stakeholder engagement.

Experience engaging with industry associations, external counsel, and government‑facing processes in relation to steel trade matters.

Commercial acumen and sound judgment in balancing compliance obligations with operational and strategic business objectives.

High attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive matters under tight deadlines and regulatory scrutiny.
