Position Information

Irrawang High School, located on Worimi land in East Raymond Terrace, proudly serves a diverse student body of up to 750 learners from Years 7 to 12, including approximately 25% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students. With dedicated leaders, teachers, and support staff, our school delivers outstanding teaching and learning programs aligned with the NSW syllabus. Specific Selection Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria.

- Demonstrated vision and strong capacity to lead teachers in the design and implementation of cutting-edge, engaging, and differentiated teaching, learning,



and vocational education programs that cater to diverse student needs.
- Proven ability to lead the management of dynamic, safe, and inclusive practical learning environments that actively promote student engagement and support equitable learning outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively as an effective member of the school executive team.
- Strong capacity to build and nurture positive relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider community, fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment at Irrawang High.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
