Role Description The Aged Care Home Support Worker is responsible for providing practical and emotional support to NDIS and aged care clients in their homes across the Greater Sydney Area. This on-site role includes assisting with personal care, light household tasks, meal preparation, and safe mobility, as well as supporting clients to attend appointments and engage in social and community activities. The worker helps promote independence, comfort, and wellbeing by following individualized care plans and maintaining clear documentation of services provided.

Regular communication with clients, families, and supervisors is required to ensure care is responsive, respectful, and aligned with There to Care’s standards. The role may involve flexible hours, including weekdays, weekends, and public holidays, depending on client needs.

Qualifications





- Experience or training in aged care, disability support, community services, or a related field (Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent is highly regarded).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills to build rapport with clients, families, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to provide personal care (e.g., hygiene, dressing, mobility support) with respect for dignity, privacy, and cultural diversity.
- Skills in household support, such as basic cooking, light cleaning, and organizing daily routines to maintain a safe and comfortable home environment.
- Reliable time management, attention to detail, and transparent record-keeping for client notes, incident reporting, and adherence to care plans.
- Ability to work independently in client homes while following organizational policies, including infection control and safety procedures.
- Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel within the Greater Sydney Area.
- Current police check, working with vulnerable people clearance (or willingness to obtain), and proof of relevant vaccinations as required.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Genuine commitment to person-centred care, empathy, and professional boundaries in working with older people and their families.
