The Role
Work within a team to support the delivery of advice and execution services on M&A; transactions, initial public offerings, secondary capital raisings, private capital raisings, structured and distributed debt and hybrid capital raisings for both listed and unlisted corporates. Support senior team members with financial analysis, modelling and transaction execution, and build foundational client relationship and industry knowledge under supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a Finance related discipline.
- 2–5 years' experience in a similar role.
- High level of self-motivation, enthusiasm and energy to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Excel modelling skills.
- Strong PowerPoint skills to prepare client pitches and presentations.
- Ability to build strong and enduring client relationships.
- Ability to build networks and trusted relationships with peers, and collaborate effectively to achieve shared outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Transactions
- Supporting transaction execution across M&A; and capital markets transactions, including timetables, workstream coordination and documentation preparation, under senior team member guidance.
- Assisting with due diligence coordination and data room management.
- Assisting with the preparation of private and public marketing materials, including information memorandums, management presentations, scheme booklets and explanatory memorandums.
- Performing routine transaction tasks accurately and without reminders.
- Executing on clear instructions with strong attention to detail.
Clients & Presentations
- Attending client meetings and observing senior team members' client interactions.
- Building an understanding of client business models and needs, under supervision.
- Assisting with the preparation and presentation of client pitches and presentations.
- Generating origination ideas and supporting participation in pitching and marketing to clients.
- Conducting basic industry research and supporting market analysis and reporting.
- Data analysis and asset screening to support origination ideas.
Financial Analysis & Modelling
- Preparing financial and operational models, including three-way models, using valuation methodologies such as DCF.
- Updating and maintaining trading and transaction comparable company benchmarks.
- Building a strong understanding of basic corporate finance principles.
- Developing competency in valuation techniques, including DCF and comparable company analysis.
