Ready to trade the day to day grind of one project for exposure to a whole portfolio of them? We're recruiting an Assistant Project Manager on behalf of a well regarded project management consultancy in Melbourne, a business that partners with clients across property, government, education and commercial sectors to deliver projects from feasibility through to handover.

This is a genuine step up for someone who wants to build a long term career in project management, rather than just clock another job. You'll work directly alongside experienced Project Managers and Directors, get exposed to multiple live projects at once, and sit on the client side of the table, representing the consultancy rather than being one of many faces on a builder's site team.

What the role involves

- Supporting project delivery across feasibility, design, procurement, construction and close-out
- Assisting with consultant engagement, design coordination and constructability reviews
- Supporting procurement processes; EOI/RFT/RFP, tender evaluation and contract administration
- Monitoring programme, budget, risk and quality across multiple projects
- Preparing reports, minutes and stakeholder communications
- Attending site inspections, PCG meetings and client workshops
- Assisting with financial tracking, variations, progress claims and forecasting
- Supporting practical completion, defects management and project handover
- Getting involved in business development and client relationship building along the way

Who we're looking for





We're keen to hear from candidates with a few years' experience in any of the following:

- Head contractor / builder environments; you've cut your teeth onsite or in a project coordination role and you're ready to move into consultancy, broaden your exposure beyond a single build, and work more closely with clients and design teams.
- Property development; you understand projects from the client's commercial perspective and want to apply that across a wider portfolio of work.
- Client-side project management; you're used to representing an owner's interests and want to bring that mindset to a consultancy setting.
- Project management consultancy; you're already working PMC side and looking for your next move with genuine variety and progression on offer.
