Assess snowpack stability across alpine backcountry terrain for a ski region, digging full profile pits, running compression and extended column tests, and tracking persistent weak layers through the winter season. Each morning you will synthesize weather, wind-loading, and field-observation data into a public avalanche danger rating and advisory, then ski-cut and conduct explosive control routes alongside the patrol. Strong backcountry travel skills, skilled avalanche certification, and sound decision-making under uncertainty are essential.
