Bid Specialist — Major Energy Projects

Are you an experienced bid professional looking to make your mark in the renewable energy sector? We're recruiting on behalf of a major contractor delivering large-scale renewable energy projects across Australia — including solar, wind and battery energy storage (BESS) — and they're looking for a Bid Specialist to join their growing team.

About the role

As Bid Specialist, you'll play a key role in securing new work across a strong and growing pipeline of utility-scale renewable energy projects. Working closely with estimating, engineering, commercial and delivery teams, you'll manage the end-to-end bid process — from opportunity identification through to submission — helping the business win complex, high-value tenders in a competitive market.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the preparation and submission of tenders, EOIs and RFPs for renewable energy and infrastructure projects (solar, wind, BESS, substations).
- Coordinate input from estimating, engineering, procurement, HSE and commercial teams to build compliant, compelling bid submissions.
- Develop bid strategies, win themes and value propositions tailored to each opportunity.
- Manage bid schedules and ensure deadlines are met across multiple concurrent submissions.
- Review and refine technical,



commercial and compliance content to ensure high-quality, client-ready documentation.
- Support post-tender clarifications, negotiations and debriefs.
- Maintain and improve bid templates, content libraries and lessons-learned processes.

About you

- Proven experience in a Bid Manager, or Bid Specialist role, ideally within energy, renewables, construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience bidding on large-scale renewable energy, BESS or substation projects highly regarded.
- Robust writing and document management skills, with the ability to translate technical detail into clear, persuasive bid content.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple bids and tight deadlines simultaneously.
- Confident working across cross-functional teams — engineering, commercial, estimating and delivery.
- Tertiary qualification in business, engineering, construction management or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
