Boilermakers & Fitters – Heavy Fabrication & Rebuilds

Heavy Industrial | Structural Steel Fabrication | Fixed & Mobile Plant

We are currently seeking experienced Trade Qualified Boilermakers and Mechanical Fitters for mine site workshop-based heavy industrial fabrication, repair and rebuild work.

These positions suit tradespeople with solid experience across mining equipment, structural fabrication, heavy mobile equipment and fixed plant, who take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work and maintaining strong safety standards.

BOILERMAKERS – Structural Steel & Heavy Fabrication

Key Responsibilities

- Structural steel fabrication and repairs.

- Structural repairs to dump truck trays, buckets and attachments.

- Crack repairs, wear package installation and hard facing.

- Fabrication and repair of ore chutes, tanks and heavy mining components.

- Bucket rebuilds and major component repairs.

- Welding and fabrication on heavy mobile equipment including dozers, excavators, loaders and dump trucks.

- Cutting, gouging, folding, plate rolling, welding and general fabrication.

- Process steel accurately using workshop machinery and equipment.

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications.

- Complete welding and fabrication in accordance with AS/NZS 1554 requirements and applicable procedures.

- Maintain a high standard of dimensional accuracy, workmanship and quality control.

- Complete job documentation and detailed records of repairs undertaken.

- Work safely and communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.

What We're Looking For

- Australian recognised Boilermaker/Fabrication trade qualification.

- Minimum 4 years post-apprenticeship experience, ideally within mining or heavy industry.

- Demonstrated experience in heavy structural fabrication and repairs.





- Proven skills in ore chute fabrication and repairs, bucket rebuilds, crack repairs and tank fabrication.

- Strong knowledge of cutting, gouging, folding, fabrication, plate rolling and welding processes.

- Ability to confidently interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Excellent time management with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Current manual Australian driver's licence.

- AutoCAD experience is highly advantageous.

- Welding qualifications and additional welding experience are highly regarded.

- Forklift, Basic Rigger, Dogging, HR and Gantry Crane tickets are advantageous.

MECHANICAL FITTERS – Rebuilds & Machining

Key Responsibilities

- Reclaim bores on earthmoving and fixed plant equipment.

- Strip, measure, inspect and report on components in a rebuild workshop environment.

- Rebuild and repair heavy industrial and mining components.

- Operate workshop machinery including lathes, milling machines and borers.

- Use manual horizontal and vertical boring equipment.

- Correctly interpret and apply engineering drawings and specifications.

- Accurately use measuring and inspection equipment.

- Complete assigned work and associated paperwork to a high standard, including detailed repair notes.

- Diagnose problems and develop practical engineering and repair solutions.

- Maintain high standards of workmanship,



safety and quality.

Experience We're Looking For

- Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification.

- Minimum 4 years post-trade experience within a heavy industrial, mining or similar environment.

- Demonstrated rebuild workshop experience.

- Experience rebuilding and repairing equipment such as:
- Slurry pumps

- Apron feeders

- Knife gate valves

- Diaphragm pumps

- Experience using specialised bearing fitting equipment including induction bearing heaters, hydraulic pullers and hydraulic nuts.

- Experience with lathes, borers and milling machines.

- Manual horizontal and vertical borer experience is highly advantageous.

- CNC machining experience is highly regarded but not essential.

- Strong understanding of engineering and fabrication solutions.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to show initiative.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistently high work standards.

- Ability to manage priorities and work effectively both independently and within a team.

- Current manual Australian driver's licence.

- Forklift, Basic Rigger, Dogging and Gantry Crane tickets are preferred.

- Welding qualifications or practical welding experience are desirable.
