About The Role

This is a 12-month maternity leave cover opportunity for an experienced and organised Business Manager to support our Legal & Governance team. Reporting to the Head of Legal, with a secondary reporting line to the Board Secretariat, you will provide high-quality administrative, operational and coordination support across the Legal Function and Board Secretariat, including the Housing Australia Board. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the function through managing schedules, coordinating meetings and governance forums, tracking deadlines, managing enquiries, and facilitating the effective flow of information across the team.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will contribute to the overall efficiency, organisation and effectiveness of legal and governance operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Board &

• Governance Support: Coordinate Board and Committee activities, including meetings, travel arrangements, onboarding and offboarding, preparation of papers and materials, and support for governance forums and meeting-day logistics.
- Legal Operations &

- Workflow Coordination: Manage the intake, tracking and assignment of legal matters, maintain legal documentation and registers,



monitor legislative updates, and support the efficient operation of the Legal function.
- Business Administration &
- Systems Support: Maintain business systems, templates, SharePoint sites and records; coordinate user support and process improvements; and produce reports and status updates as required.
- Team &
- Stakeholder Coordination: Support the Legal team through calendar management, meeting coordination, onboarding activities, procurement administration, invoice processing, and the delivery of team initiatives and events.
- Compliance, Risk &
- Professional Standards: Monitor legal team compliance requirements, maintain practising certificate and continuing professional development records, manage sensitive information with discretion, and contribute to a culture of integrity, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Skills And Experience

- Exceptional organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate schedules and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- High attention to detail,



demonstrated through the accurate preparation of documents, maintenance of records, and tracking of actions, deadlines and follow-ups.
- Advanced administrative and systems capability, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, document management systems and business support processes, with confidence working across digital platforms.
- Proactive mindset and problem-solving ability, with a demonstrated capacity to anticipate needs, identify solutions and support the efficient delivery of team and business outcomes.
- Experience in a legal environment, such as a Legal Secretary, Paralegal or similar legal support role, would be highly advantageous. Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, finance, economics or a related discipline are desirable but not essential.
