Operating as a significant player in the broader credit and lending market, the organisation maintains a diversified portfolio supported by robust funding structures and wholesale capital markets.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Risk Officer will take overall accountability for the group’s enterprise risk, legal, compliance, and governance frameworks. The mandate requires a commercially pragmatic executive to act as an independent advisor to the CEO, Board, and executive leadership, fostering a strong culture of risk ownership across all business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enterprise Risk Strategy & Governance: Lead the development and continuous improvement of the group's enterprise risk framework, Risk Appetite Statement, limits, and escalation pathways.

- Compliance, Conduct & Regulatory Engagement: Oversee compliance management across credit, financial services, privacy, AML/CTF, and consumer protection, maintaining transparent, constructive relationships with regulators.
- Operational Resilience & Emerging Risk: Oversee operational risk, business continuity, third-party risk, cyber resilience, technology, data integrity, and AI governance.
- Board & Committee Reporting: Serve as the primary risk lead for the Board Risk Committee and executive forums, delivering meaningful, forward-looking insights and risk analytics.
- Risk Culture & Business Partnership: Champion a strong, transparent risk culture across all lines of business,
providing practical advice on product design, lending, transformation, and funding decisions.
- Risk Function & Governance Leadership: Lead and develop the Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Company Secretariat teams, ensuring functional capability, succession depth, and three-lines assurance alignment.
Core Competencies:
- Executive Leadership: A proven track record as a CRO, Deputy CRO, or senior risk executive within an ASX-listed, regulated financial services, banking, or non-bank lending workplace.
- Credit & Lending Expertise: Deep experience in credit risk oversight, responsible lending, underwriting standards, portfolio analytics, and hardship settings within mortgage and asset finance.
- Governance & Regulatory Acumen: Comprehensive understanding of ASIC, ASX, AML/CTF, privacy, consumer credit, and conduct obligations relevant to a listed lender.
- Operational & Technology Resilience: Strong capability in operational risk, business continuity, cyber security, data risk, third-party risk, and modern AI/technology governance.
- Commercial & Strategic Mindset: The ability to provide independent, credible challenge while connecting risk insights to enterprise performance, strategy, and business execution.
- Stakeholder Management: Sophisticated communication and negotiation skills with a track record of engaging credibly with Boards, Audit/Risk Committees, regulators, and executive peers.
