About the opportunity We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Research Officer at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research (Menzies), University of Tasmania.

The Menzies Institute for Medical Research (Menzies), at the University of Tasmania, is one of Australia’s leading health and medical research institutes. Menzies exists to improve human health and wellbeing by performing excellent basic, clinical and population health research that focuses on the major diseases affecting the Tasmanian community. Taking a disease prevention approach, our research is aimed at improving patient care and clinical outcomes for the community by translating knowledge and clinical actions.

What you’ll do:

- Working with the State Lead, undertake recruitment, data collection and related activities for the study according to the study protocol.
- Recruit GP clinics to work on the study and assist them to locate, recruit and manage study participants.
- Coordinate remote interviews with participants to assess their suitability for inclusion in the research study, provide them with information about the aims of the study and instruct them in the study methods.
- Ensure that all studies are conducted strictly according to study protocols and adhere to relevant legal and regulatory bodies.
- Identify and document any problems associated with the conduct of the study including ethics reports, adverse events,



data collection and data entry and to bring these to the attention of the principal investigator and/or project team in a timely manner.­

What we’re looking for:

- Completion of a diploma qualification and at least 2 years relevant work experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a range of participants and health professionals.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to be self-directed and use initiative.
- Record-keeping skills appropriate to carrying out a scientific investigation.
- Understanding of privacy and ethical issues relating to clinical research.

Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $105,665 comprising base salary within the range of $80,869 to $90,312 plus 17% superannuation.
